We have 2 new very special Dan Baldwin editions.

We have used some new techniques in the production of these two very special editions. They are reproduced with a good deal of hand embellishment. For the razor blade elements within the pictures we have used coloured foils, which are applied to the print with special glue that is silkscreened onto the print. This glue is left to dry; when dry it becomes very tacky, enabling us to apply the foil to just the required areas of the print. Each colour foil requires a separate silkscreen. Genuine 23 Carat Gold Leaf has been used in certain areas of both prints.

Slipstream

End of every thing by Dan Baldwin

Rivers of vibrant flowing colours create a rhythmic backdrop to a plethora of symbolic icons that are carried visually through the piece like the flow of human life.

I personally particularly love this print that borders on the abstract. I can feel happiness and sadness, but above all the piece is upbeat.

We have used 23 Carat Gold Leaf on the Swallow.

Dream

An old fashioned tale of love

A scene of two children sitting innocently in a typical British Woodland.

Somewhat reminiscent of the 1930 -1960's era and the depiction of children by Lucie Attwell. Within the scene the less romantic, or threatening sides of nature and society encroach, symbols of the corruption of childhood innocence and love. Bugs, spiders and a smiling wolf, and the discordant song of a blackbird. The man made elements of war and destruction also invade the peaceful scene, hand grenades an airliner falling through the sky and the ever present symbol of death a skull growing within a tree of life.

We have used 23 Carat Gold Leaf on one of the butterflies and a holographic foil on the other. The fly on the trunk of the tree is a 3D one adhered to the surface.
