Mabel Lucie Attwell
(4 June 1879 – 5 November 1964) was a British artist that self financed her art college tuition at the age of 16 by selling her paintings. She met her future husband, Harold Earnshaw at art college with whom she had three children who must have been influencial on her work.

Her drawings were cute, romantic drawings of children and can be found in many popular fairy tale and nursery rhyme books, including Peter Pan and Wendy, Alice in Wonderland.
The modern art of Dan Baldwin owes some of its statirical flavour to the art of Lucie Attwell. Her artwork style has become synonymous with healthy innocent childhood, subject matter that Dan uses to illustrate our human existence.
